"I am delighted to be back on campus, albeit virtually" As the Founder & CEO of Women Get On Board, and a proud Brock University alum, I was honoured to join #BrockU Faculty of Social Sciences Dean Ingrid Makus in conversation last night. During Brock's #ChooseToChallenge event, we discussed finding your voice through purpose, presence, passion and power. In my more than 35 years of entrepreneurial, financial and governance experience, I have learned that it is not enough to have a seat on the board. You have to show up, serve and consistently elevate your board effectiveness.
As Founder & CEO of Women Get On Board, I recently participated in ISC Group's Executive Roundtable on the Gender Power Gap in Corporate Canada. During the session, we explored how to improve gender equity in the corporate world, the obstacles in the way and how to shift policy and culture so that more women can claim leadership positions in the world of work.
As Founder & CEO of Women Get On Board, I recently facilitated a Virtual Workshop presented by WGOB's Affiliate Partner WCM, on the topic Getting on a Board. During the workshop, I discussed how to prepare for board opportunities through network mapping, doing your due diligence and preparing for a board interview.
