For today’s #ThursdayThoughts, I’m reflecting on the important conversations from the recent The Power of Leadership Brand: Credibility, Influence & Impact panel I was on, hosted by Level5 Strategy.

One of the insights I shared is that leadership evolves in chapters. As our careers progress, our leadership brand should evolve with us, while remaining grounded in our values, character, and purpose.

Throughout my own journey, I’ve come to think of leadership in three chapters:
• Preparing for your life’s work
• Doing your life’s work
• Giving back through your life’s work

For me, embracing the power of the third chapter led to founding Women Get On Board Inc. (WGOB) to help create more pathways for women to serve on corporate boards and advance gender diversity in the boardroom.

Our leadership brand isn’t built through a single moment; it’s shaped by the decisions we make, the relationships we cultivate, and the impact we have on others every day.

Thank you to the Level5 team for the opportunity to be part of this thoughtful discussion, and to Hua Yu and Kelsey D. for capturing the key insights in such a meaningful article.
