It’s time for #ThursdayThoughts!
It was a pleasure to chat with Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) about the recent study I led with Wendy Kei, FCPA-FCA, F.ICD examining the role of CPAs on corporate boards. CPAs have long been a valued presence on corporate boards and audit committees in Canada, but our study shows that many wait until they are approaching retirement or later to become directors.
Thank you to CPA Canada and KPMG for initiating this important research. I hope it encourages more CPAs to begin their board journey earlier in their careers, because organizations can gain so much from their presence at the table.
