I have always thought of my life in chapters: preparing, doing and giving back.

I’m honoured to share my story, “The Power of My Third Chapter: From Earning a Place to Holding Space,” as part of the GEMS Unearthed Global Digital Archive.

Looking back on my journey—from building my career in finance and technology, to serving in boardrooms where I was often the only woman at the table, to founding Women Get On Board in 2015—I can see how each experience, challenge and pivot helped shape the work I am doing today.

My third chapter is about giving back with purpose. It’s about using the knowledge, networks and experiences I’ve gained throughout my career to create opportunities for other women and to help them find their own place and voice at the boardroom table.

Sharing my story also gave me an opportunity to reflect on the people and values that have shaped me—my parents’ example and their belief in always doing your best, the mentors and sponsors who opened doors for me, and the determination to keep moving forward when the path wasn’t always clear.

There is vulnerability in looking back, but there is also tremendous clarity. I can now see that the different chapters of my life are not separate stories at all. They are connected by determination, authenticity and a desire to make a meaningful difference.

I invite you to read my story and reflect on your own chapters—where you’ve been, what you’ve learned and the legacy you want to create.
