In a world that is increasingly divided, listening has become one of our most powerful tools for building connections and practicing allyship.

Over the years, I’ve learned how crucial it is to foster mutual understanding in my role as an ally. True allyship begins not with speaking, but with listening—listening attentively, with an open mind and open heart.

Listening goes beyond simply hearing—it requires being fully present and engaged with another person’s perspective. Focus on amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and understanding their lived experiences without interruption or judgment. This process calls for humility, acknowledging that as allies, we don’t have all the answers and are not the main focus of the story.
