The piece explores how today’s finance professionals are increasingly being called on to lead through uncertainty, provide strategic insight, and be willing to pivot amid the unexpected. Deborah shared her advice for CPAs stepping into leadership roles.

“Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations and technologies,” she said. “Foster transparent dialogue with your team and stakeholders, and develop strategic thinking by participating in business discussions beyond the numbers.”

At the ONE Conference, hosted by CPA Canada from Sep. 18-19, Deborah and Cathy will lead a session on The Future of the Boardroom, which aims to challenge CPAs to expand their influence beyond oversight into strategy, innovation and purpose-driven governance.
